Beforehand, I tried 2 free products that kept crashing and had less capabilities. I also tried a few other free trials. I really did not want to pay the $24, though. But broke down because I wasted too much time fiddling with the free ones. Also wish they had included contact and other duplicate deletions for the $24. This version only did email.

There is a free tool for that. Alexey Kuznetsov, Alexey, the software you mentioned have helped to partially remove duplicate messages, but another part in the same folder still remains. The messages not identified by 'Remove Duplicate Messages tool' look exactly the same, have the same date, same senders and receivers. I can see that the tool has scanned through the folder with those messages, but for some reason it did not identify them as dupes. It would be good to have a choice in the tool's options of which fields must be equal for message to be identified as duplicates. Probably it doesn't see them as dupes due to difference in some insignificant secondary field. One useful tip for those who accidentally or unwittingly import the same messages twice and may help here.
